The winged skull atop the standard bearer was created from a tiny pewter figure sold at a hobby store. The wings were cut off, filed down to make a nice gluable (is that a word?) edge between them - the skull is from a Warhammer skeleton warrior boxed set. If you look carefully the teeth of the chainsword can be seen shining brightly in this photo - it is a trick special to this model. I painted the teeth of the chainsword black - but then I just ran a tiny line of mythral silver down the outside edge of each side of the sword - it actually makes it look as if there is a double row of sawblades on the sword :-) |
