Chaos Turn 1 Havocs fire on the Blood Angel assault drive but fail to cause damage, remaining Chaos heavy weapons bombard the lead Blood Angel razorback (even through the smokescreen) and destroy it utterly - the crew are unscathed, and assume firing positions. The plague marines run up atop the nearest hill, while another group of the disease ridden warriors moves forward behind cover of a group of trees. end of Chaos Turn 1. |
Blood Angel Turn 2. Having moved past the most dangerous part of their movement (and survuved the Chaos heavy weapons fire!) the assault drive continues to move forward. The rhinos move forward under 12 inches (full tac squads geared for assault in each), the Vindicator crew make their weapons ready as they know their time is coming soon, the Sanguinary High Priest and his Honor Guard moved almost their full 12 inches, but were certain to keep a pinch back from that lead rhino in case some freak of nature event saw it explode (see - we have learned from the past!). At this point only the lead rhino can be contacted by the enemy - we knew there was a risk but decided that the mounted tac squad and Sanguinay & Honor Guard would be more than a match for the enemy should they choose to engage us here. In the background you can see the second BA razorback moved forward
firing one weapon and deployed it's devastator squad. The far devastators
fired full this turn from the wreckage of their destroyed vehicle. The
Chaplain and Death Company deviated from their original marching orders
to move into a position where they had an option to either support the
devastator squads from infantry assault while at the same time they were
still in a position to support the main assault drive (though at the moment
the ten plague marines seemed to be very much outmatched!).
End of Blood Angel Turn 2. |
