Our New GameRoom
&
SpaceHulk Revisited
The New GameRoom
Well, at long last I realized that I needed a place to game that was
removed from the chaos of my modeling area. So after discussing it with
my beloved wife we created a new dedicated gametable in our library, where
games can stay out all the time :) Much to our delight, we've
found that the more elegant feel of this room (combined with our picky
standards of modeling & terrain) actually seem to somehow elevate the
respectability of the hobby a bit! Friends who have never gamed before
excitedly ask "oh what's this?" and so far all have thought our gaming
was really neat :)
Don't worry, our other "gameroom" is now entirely devoted to our 40K
modeling maddness! Pics of it (when it still also served as gameroom) are
online here.
SpaceHulk Revisited
An article in Black Gobbo a while back renewed my interest in Space
Hulk, so I tinkered together some terrain and we've been experimenting
with all kinds of fun scenarios in this new and uniquely challenging 40K
terrain!
Here's a few peeks at the rooms & corridors we've set up.
and a closer view! Those doors actually open & close!
The floor grating is "plastic canvas" found in the sewing section
of a local hobby store, it comes in several colors - I purchased several
black pieces and drybrushed them with chainmail silver.
The doorways were made with foamboard & hotglue,
the nice door design is from GW artwork :) The machinery on the floor
is from a space station model kit. The circular floor hatchway was
purchased
as part of a larger set from Dwarven
Forge . Their sets are very very nice, but the corridors are just a
tad too narrow for my tastes.
In addition to awesome gaming,
some of the photos you can take look fairly "realistic"!
Sorry if this photo is too dark on your monitor, it looks quite "moody"
here on mine.
I'll share more details on this terrain and how I made it soon! :)
