Blood Angels Turn 1

One of my speeders raged and move an extra 6 inches (the one out front), both speeders moved to get range for their multimeltas on those falcons. The tac squads held their position (well one did, the tac squad out of the picture raged and move a whole inch - just far enough to ixnay their distance shooting - aarrgghh). My devastators held their ground but had only the wraithlord in their sights. The whirlwind raged and moved 2 inches (aarrgghh!!). The mobile tac squads drive forward, the one on the right blew it's engine going for the overcharge move so they got stuck in the middle of things - my other mounted tac squad though did just fine - and was able to dismount, fire on and assault the Farseer Council (Farseer & Warlocks) before they could cast their foul spells and magicks! :) Also - my Death Company raged too (must've been something in our breakfast today!) they ran a full 6 inches right into the trees - but that put them just about close enough for an assault so I went ahead with a gutsy call and decided to have them jump over the trees to attempt to engage the Eldar main body in an early assault.

Here we see my Death Company after their move - all they've got to do is make their difficult terrain test to move 3 inches and I'll be able to slaughter some guardians and (hopefully) save my devastators from an all out assault from these guys - I wanted my devastators to kill vehicles, not be killed by these yahoos. But in my zeal I just didn't give that Wraithlord enough respect - nor had I the foresight to equip my Chaplain & DC with anything that could hurt a Wraithlord... this is the recipe for trouble.....

Ahh - my first tac squad - assaulting the Eldar HQ :)

In a dramatic moment that affected the entire game one of my speeders blew up a falcon! :) After the game though we realized that the speeder that landed this shot was the one who had moved over 12 inches - so actually COULDN'T have fired the shot! Oh well - these things happen, who knows why that falcon exploded, faulty circuitry anybody? :)

About a heartbeat later our happiness abated when we saw the occupants come out (Banshees)... hey wait - did we roll to see if they were hurt by the blast? suddenly I'm not so sure! oh well :)

Our assault on their HQ was as brutal as it was swift - we killed three of the aliens, who promptly failed their leadership test and retreated a rediculous distance - our pursuit was less enthusiastic though - the boys chased them for only 2 inches, but it worked out well for us - looks like the veteran sergeant was really on his toes that day! :)
