Batrep Blood Angels Vs Tyranids
This report i faced the 'nids. My friend is a great gamer with them and its always a fun fight! This time we used a 1500 point force and had at it! It was a tak and hold and i was the defender! Forces Blood Angels: HQ:Chaplain with jump pack terminator honors and bolt pistol-216
Elites:Veteran assualt squad veteran sergant with power weapon bolt pistol 1 flamer 5 veterans with bp/ccw-229 Elites:terminators 2 terminators with storm bolters/power fist 1 sergant with power sword/storm bolter 2 terminators with assualt cannon/power fist-250 Elites:Terminator assualt squad with veteran sergant with power sword/storm bolter 3 lightning claws(pair) 1 thunder hammer/storm shield-210 Troops:Tactical squad with veteran sergant with power sword 1 missle launcher 1 plasma gun-196 Troops:Tactical squad with veteran sergant with power sword 1 missle launcher 1 plasma gun-196 Troops:Tactical squad with veteran sergant with bp/ccw 1 missle launcher 3 bolters-100 Troops:Tactical squad with veteran sergant with bp/ccw 1 missle launcher 3 bolters-100 Total:1497 I went for assualt and fire power.I'd try some assualt termies here
as they can wipe the floor with lesser bugs!
Tyranids Hive Swarm: HQ:Hive Tyrant with venom cannon and scything claws-105(i think) HQ:Warrior Brood 2 with devourer's 1 with venom cannon-132 Elites:Warrior Brood 2 with devourer's 1 with venom cannon-132 Elites:Lictor-65 Elites:Lictor-65 Troops:Genestealer brood with rending claws 10-220 Troops: Genestealer Brood with rending claws 10-220 Troops:Genestealer Brood with rending claws 10-220 Troops:Termagaunts brood with flesh bourers 20-140 Fast Attack: Hormagaunt Brood claws 14-84 Heavy Support:Carnifex with bio-plasma-105 Total:1498 Terrain-There was the huge bunker in the middle other then that there was a few trees to the left and a little more in the middle towards the complex. Deployment-The termie tactical squad posted itself atop the first firing spot.A tac squad got the gun emplacement and the second 10 man squad got the ramp of it.The assualt termies where on the ground facing towards the tyranid warriors.The Death Company and Veteran assualt squad where around in the back waiting for their time to come.The 5 man tac squads where atop the bunker missle launchers aiming towards the biggest bugs! Turn 1-The chaplain raged adn so did the assualt terminators but stayed put.The missle launchers all around let fly as 13 termagaunts where turned into puddles of blood and goop.All they could do now...was wait.The Tyrant strode forth as did the warriors.The carnifex came forth and the lictor finally appreared and ran towards the marine lines.The genestealers moved forwards.The hormagaunts followed suit.The venom cannons were in accurate completely missing every target. Turn 2-The Tyranids where within bolter range.Everything was cut lose.14 genestealers and the rest fo the termagaunts where eliminated by missle bolter and storm bolter and assualt cannon fire!The Hive Tyrant moved foward again.as did everything.The genestealers went behind coevr this time!The warriors where in range and let fly the fire power was somewhat not impressive as only 2 tactical marines fell dead into the rich soil.and the lictor turned up! Turn 3-the assualt terminators raged and advanced in assualt range of
the brood of warriors(unfortunately there were 6 of them).The DC and veteran
assualt squad both raged AND moved foward towards the nearest enemy unit.The
firing line broke out killing all the termagaunts and 2 wariors.The assualt
terminators charged into the mostrous bugs.Thunder hammers pulsing and
lightning claws zipping with electric energy distruption.The sergant was
first to strike taking down one of the warriors as the lightning claw terminators
suceeded in bringing down 2 more and the terminator with the thunder hammer
eliminated the last of the warriors.The Death Company charged into the
genestealers just as the tyrant charged into them.The carnaged was insane
as 6 death company marines and 3 veterans bit the dust while the genestealers
where nearly wiped out.The Chaplain Bravely offered a fight with the tyrant
by the body language he was taught to communicate with them.The brave sould
charged thrusting into the air and slashing at it's bulky neck just as
a claw came around to slice him.He saw the attack in the corner of his
eye and turned off the jets falling 15 feet down landing perfectly and
charging towards the tyrants knee's all in one graceful motion.The savage
chaplain cut at the tyrants leg causing it to faulter and become even slow
just as a massive claw went strait through the Chaplain's double headed
eagle on his chest plate.The Carnifex moved towards the tactical marines
firing its bio-plasma killing one of the tactical marines.The lcitors charged
a different squad of marines killing off 4 of them.The carnifex charged
into the tactical squad it shot at killing 3 marines but with brave veteran
sergant threw himself in the way and gripping his sword with both hands
landed on the monstrous beast cutting most of it's side open before it
ate him whole.The Death Company was completely wiped out and the veteran
squad was all but spent although they had been able to see the last of
the genestealers too heir blood decapitated grave.Tyreal took his Arcanum
and swung down cutting the claw off the tyrant's own arm.Without even thinking
to removing the claw Chaplain Tyreal charged once again for the tyrant.Hitting
his jump pack going through his legs and kicking the ground on the other
side fliping himself.Turning off the jets he slid his Arcanum down the
back of the tyrant just as it swung its massive claws around for the death
kill.Once near the ground he flipped back on his jets soaring up as he
saw a claw come down.With lightning reflexs he kicked out the jest and
angled himself to where he caught the claw flipped onto it and jumped up
hitting his thrusters landing on the tyrants head.The Dumb Beast had lost
sight of the chaplain and went looking for him.The chaplain decided to
end it here and now and promptly put 7 bolt pisto rounds into the beasts
head.The falling beast nearly landed on the veterans as they tended to
ther wounded chaplain.He had not meant to actually slay the beast in Hand
to hand combat but mearly by some time so that the veterans could escape!
Turn 4-The terminator assualt squad raged back towards the bunker near
the lictors as the terminators already in the bunker jumped down running
to help out in the combat of the tactical squads.The Veteran assualt squad
stayed put for now as they were tired and slick will gore from their hard
fought battle.The Terminator assualt squad hit the lines killing one of
the lcitors in an explosion of gore while wounding the last one with 2
skilled lightning strikes from a veteran terminators claws!The regular
terminators lost 2 to the carnifex but pummeled it with their fists causing
gapping holes in its outer hull.The beast fell with 6 soccer ball sized
holes in its torso.The Lictor killed off 2 assualt terminators causing
them to flee(what the heck?!?!?!) and chased them down killing every one
of them, one by one by one in sickinging fashion as the bulky terminators
couldnt out run the SUPER LICTOR!!!!
Game over i won as my tactical squads inhabited the bunker.I took VERY heavy losses in the game... here is what it looked like VP wise Blood Angels:1433
Im cant beleive my chaplain killed the tyrant in 1 on 1 challenge! i was freaking out... Lessons Learned-Tyrants can be killed by regular marines!!!A whirl wind
would ahve dont me good here!Assualt termies are pansies!terminators are
vastly underated in a Blood Angels army!Massed bolter fire is extremely
effective on any form of tyranid!Lictors are insanely lucky!Lictors that
arent killed turn into super lictors that wipe out entire tactical squads
and kill off whole assualt terminator squads!
Ups:OF COURSE when my chaplain killed the tyrant.When the assualt terminators slayed the warrior brood in one turn.When the terminators ran back and slayed the carnifex in a turn! Downs:When the Lictor turned into a super lictor.Losing my Death Company
in 2 turns.Losing most of my veteran assualt squad.Losing almost 3 full
squads to 1!?!?! lictor!When my assualt termies failed to kill the lictor
WHEN CHARGING and then proceeded to die and run away!?!?!?!
ALWAYS fun to play nids!I think this is my first nid's report every!Anyways
