Storing minis and having enough clear tablespace to play games
is a constant challenge around here, so recently I decided to do something
drastic.
I was determined to make a 4X8 gametable which has shelves all underneath
it. I finished the major assembly yesterday (shown above) you can see the
4X8 tabletop, and you can see the four shelf bays on this side (there are
four more on the opposite side too), you can also see the slats into which
the actual shelves will slide. Each shelf is two feet deep by about 23
inches across, and there are (or will be tomorrow) a total of twenty such
storage spaces per side (each shelf has almost six inches of clearance
for tall minis). After moving things around we should be able to
store all of our armies on army trays which rest on the shelves, and even
incomplete projects and terrain as well on these shelves - freeing up the
bookshelves in the room for larger terrain items and whatnot :)
oh the horrors we visit upon ourselves in the name of this hobby! But
this should be really nice once we get it all set up :)
happy games to all! ~ Brother Edward
